Lawsuit filed in Alaska against Reform Party National Primary

Members of the Reform Party of Alaska have filed a lawsuit against those working with national Party chairman Gerald Moan to hold the internet / mail-in Reform Party National Primary.

The lawsuit centers around, at least in part, the fact that the inclusion of John Hagelin, the candidate for another Party, i.e., the Natural Law Party, which is on the ballot in over 40 states, could leave the Reform Party without a candidate on the ballot in Alaska.

The rules in around 44 states, including Alaska, are that no candidate can appear on more than one Presidential Ballot line. In other words, if John Hagelin would get the Reform nomination and stay on the Natural Law Party presidential ballot line --- the Reform party would be left without a candidate in Alaska.

It was this state of affairs which thwarted attempts by some of us to get Buchanan to merge with the Constitution Party in St. Louis during Labor Day, 1999 --- and then go after the Reform nomination.

G. Moan has sent a letter to John Hagelin asking him when he would dissolve the Natural Law Party since he is seeking the Reform Party nomination --- but there has been no response thus far from Hagelin. Knowledgeable observers feel that Hagelin will never dissolve the Natural Law Party, due to its cultish nature and its fronting for the Transcendental Meditation Guru who has been reported to have been the very one who turned the Beatles and the Rolling Stones towards sophisticated mind altering drugs.

Taken to the extreme case, Hagelin could win the Reform Party nomination, take the $13 million in Federal Matching Funds, remain on the Natural Law ballot line in about 44 states, represent the Reform Party AND the Natural Law Party SIMULTANEOUSLY in the other six or so states --- and use the $13 million in matching funds to build the Natural Law Party for the future.

The question is: why is Natural Law Presidential nominee John Hagelin being included on the Reform Party National Primary ballot at all? Obviously, just one more of the bizarre developments in the “Stop Buchanan” subplot in this election season.
